South Africa is a country with population of about 58.56 million people. 75% blacks (African), 13% white(European), 9% mixed white, Malay and black descent (coloured) and 3% Asian background. It is divided into nine province- The western cape, Eastern cape, Northern Cape, North West, Free state, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
There are eleven official languages, nine are indigenous; Zulu, Xhosa, Tswana, Sotho, Swazi, Venda, Ndebele, Pedi and Tsonga while English and Afrikaans are widely used. It is a country that have other races and habitat.

South Africa is a home of bead work, most of their attires and accessories are beaded, especially the Xhosa and Zulu tribes
THE INDIGENOUS TRIBES AND THE FASHION
THE XHOSA
They wear a plain white or white and black or occasionally reddish brown fabric. The men wear covering in front, either an animal skin or beaded accessories over their shoulder, embroidered skirt, a tunic or stranded beaded neaklace with a sandal. The women wear umbhaco skirt, wrapper, or sew it into a fitting styles with a headwrap called iqhiya or a beaded hat, bead necklace called ithumbu and other accessories.
THE TSWANA
They wear blue cotton fabric known as Leteisi, sew into different styles and design with headwrap
THE ZULU
The women wear a cowhide skirt, cotton vest or beaded bra, beaded necklace with a circular shaped hat called Izicolo (mostly worn by married women). The men wear front apron (isinene and ibheshu) to cover the genital and buttocks, beaded accessories and headbands.
VENDA
Both men and women sew their venda fabric made from brightly coloured striped into different styles and designs, adorned with beaded accessories.
NDEBELE
They wear a colourful designed fabric, with a plain white background, sew into different styles and designs or small beaded apron called isiphephetu, a hat and a thick neck bead called isigolwani on their neck, arms, leg and waist.
TSONGA
They wear vibrant and bright shades of pink, yellow, blue, purple and green fabric sewn into various styles and design adorned with beaded accessories and a head wrap. The women often wear a wrap round woven and beaded skirt called tinguvu or xibelani.
SWAZI
The attire of Swazi tribe changes by age. Both men and women wear toga-like emahiya consist of two piece bold prints in red, white and black. The top (umhelwane) is tied to the shoulder, the bottom piece wraps the waist. This bold print can be sewn into modern styles and designs with head wrap.
PEDI
Pedi women wear inner fabric tied to the waist called “hele” and a metsheka tied on the top part of the dress to match the head accessory, moruka. Doeks or headscarf can also be used. Pedi fabric is vibrant and colourful, it can be sewn into different styles and designs in modern time.
SOTHO
The men put on a blanket or fabric to cover from the shoulder with a hat known as Mokorotlo, while the women usually wear traditional dresses and skirt called Seshweshwe, which have different patterns, colours and design.
